Campus da Terra is a unique outdoor homeschooling hub, piloting right here on the island of Madeira. Designed for homeschooling/worldschooling families and children of primary school age, it combines the best of both guided academic instruction and child-led exploration. Our approach allows children to shape their own educational journey while benefiting from a supportive community of peers and facilitators. Through hands-on learning experiences and outdoor activities, we nurture curiosity, creativity, and a deep connection with nature. Our goal is to cultivate critical thinking, collaboration, and a profound sense of care for the planet. We welcome homeschooling families and provide tutor support through hired teachers for their curriculum, while fostering an environment focused on hands-on experiences, social connection, and child-led discovery. Our approach is self-directed and community-based, allowing children to learn through play, exploration, and meaningful interactions in multi-age groups. We encourage curiosity, independence, and collaboration, while parents benefit from a supportive network of like-minded families. For traveling families, we offer flexible participation, making it easy to integrate into our community for short- or long-term stays.
